i never used 1.* but id have to say adium is easy to use, just so long as u know what #adium is, plus im sure there will be a tutorial or some explanation of how to utilize all the features when 1.0 comes out.
Not all Adium users are geeks! (I got two colleagues to convert to Adium!)
