auto close chat window

is there a way to get a chat window to close after people have stoped talking to me for say like 5 minutes or soemthing

Nope. And I don't think auto-closing windows are a particularly smart idea, either. I can see a lot of "where did my window go?" e-mails.
Really, it's not a hassle to close your own windows.
