Increasing max message size limit

I often get the error, "Could not receive the last message because it was too large."

My co-workers and I often share large modified snippets of code and such via AIM - with Trillian, there is an option to increase the max message size, but there's no similar option in Adium and the max message size seems a bit low.

Is there any hidden setting I can change to increase this limit, or is this a feature that can be added in a future release?
