Dont know if this has been addressed, but what is the background picture in the preferences? I put one but it hasnt shown up anywhere. Sorry if this is a stupid question, im still trying to make my way around this program.

What part of the preferences are you talking about?

I think he may be referring to the custom back ground image in the message window??!!??

Just a guess. However, if this is the case then it depends what message view you are using. If it is off the extras site, the view may not have custom images enabled or whatever, in which case it won't be doing anything.

Okay, if you want to use a background image in your contact list, it needs to be in regular, or borderless window mode. It won't work with group or contact bubbles

yep, thats how ive had my list.

What's the size of the image? I don't think Adium resizes them to fit in the contact list window, so if you set a large image, you might not be able to see it unless you expand the contact list to a ridiculous size...
