Suggestion: Scheduling away messages

Is there someway (perhaps using Applescript?) that we could have Adium institute 'away message scheduling'? I take my laptop to work from 8:30 to 4:30 everyday during the week, so it would be nice if Adium could automatically go away with a work appropriate away message (even better would be randomly selecting one message from a list of appropriate messages) if it noticed the computer coming out of sleep anytime during that interval. And likewise, outside of those times, Adium should automatically turn off the away message, if it is one of the ones on the list.

Can this be done? Does anyone else have interest in such a feature? Is applescript a reasonable way of implementing such a feature, or would it need to be built into Adium itself?

Please give me feedback on this idea.

Sorry to gank this topic but I have a related question and don't want to start a new thread.

Does anybody know if there's a program that will schedule programs to run and quit?

Say for instance I want to run something over night and automatically quite at 6 am. Is there a way to do this?

Any advice would be great! thanks guys

It's called "cron," and it comes built into Mac OS X and other UNIX based systems. Here is a basic explanation of how cron works. There are also numerous utilities designed to make using cron easier, such as Cronnix.
