Hi there..i'm new to adium and sometimes i like to set my status as invisible to get work done etc

Do you appear offline to everyone else, or can some clients, like gAIM or googletalk, tell that you're online? Can they tell that you're invisible?

no you appear offline to everyone else. Thus the whole invisible status. I think its preety cool I use it to see whos on when I dont feel like talking

I know that you are supposed to be able to sign on as invisible, but I have not been able to get this to work for me. Can anyone tell me how this is done? I have selected the "invisible" status from the account submenu before sign on, but I still show up online, and have to hit invisible again.

Signing on as invisible is broken, unfortunately. No ETA on a fix.

can someone tell me where the "invisible" menu is, I can not for the life of me, find it anywhere/

up at the very top when you make a new status or away message, (you can just hit Apple key+Y) dont put anything in the message but look down at the boxes and check the one that says invisible. Save that as a custom status so that you can just go up to the status menu and hit it from there!
I don't know what day it is so I dont know how fast I responded to your question. Hope I helped. btw Im at a computer at school not on my mac so I can't be totally positive about those instructions they may vary a tad.

hmmm..i "sign in" as "offline"...that is, when i start Adium, it starts as offline..then i select invisible..and i "log in" to my 2 services, AIM and YIM, and i'm already invisible, without having to go online in between...does that make sense?

Hrmmm Darth are you sure your invisible? They say its broken and greeniis said when he does it he has to go and turn on invisible again. Either way I dont think its that big of a deal. You sign on for a second and then go invisible. They wont know your online. 8)

iirc the borkedness is an AIM thing. Not sure on that, though.
