Disconnection and alive windows issue

Hey folks,
in first place I'd like to congratulate Adium Team for their efforts and amazin app; It really rocks. However, I realized an issue when I'm talking to someone who gets offline and gets online, with no specific downtime. If I don't close and reopen the window conversation, keeping it opened all time, I receive all messages from my buddy, but he doesn't receive any from me. So, closing the window and reopening everything seems to be ok again.
Is that a expected behaviour or should I worry about my Adium copy health? :-P Is there a way to change this?
