Issues with Buddylist Statuses (Statusi? :) )

So, I've upgraded to the newest non-beta version, and now reading the status messages of my friends (I've only tried this with AIM) doesn't seem to work correctly if viewed from the buddy list. Instead, all I see is the last viewed away message, or if I haven't looked at their profile since signing on I see the generic "Away" message. What gives?

Known problem. The 0.85.1 beta we hope to have out shortly should fix it.
<edit> and before you ask, the problem is at AOL's end, so reverting to 0.84 won't fix it </edit>

It’s statuses, not stati. Just if you wanted to know…

Statusees.
I've actually had a similar but different problem. I've been getting the last away message (And possibly the last status. You know, going idle, going active, that sort of thing) in the chat window, but the buddy list shows the correct, current away message.
However, it's worth pointing out that it doesn't do it all the time, and more importantly my list isn't set to always show away messages, only on mouseover. So I suppose this is the same issue everyone is talking about, and just no one talks about it being echoed in the chat window as the old message, but being current on mouseover.

That’s the problem with typing; you can’t tell if they’re being sarcastic or if they’re being serious.
Or at least I can’t.

I am also having this problem, tied together with the "rate limiting" problem. I have about 200 buddies, with about 60 online normally.
This isn't a huge issue, it makes it less tempting to check away messages, which is good - but I always liked it when I were chatting with someone and if they went away it would show up in the IM window. Now it says they went away and if it has the last away message checked it will display that, if it doesn't have one at all it says nothing.

The beta fixes it.

Except for the

and the deliberately referenced joke, I wouldn’t’ve noticed
