hey guys,

i have the default contact list style and i'm not able to read the away messages by scrolling over the buddies. I have AIM. anyone know how to solve this?

This sounds like but 1780. Try getting the beta (it'll take a while to fetch the away messages, but it should be more successful in doing so).

When you first open up Adium it takes a minute to get peoples away messages. I would wait about 5 minutes just to be sure.

hey i waited for more than 15 mins but still no luck. Let me try the beta and see what happens.

How long are you hovering over them? You can't just scroll over them and it will show. It works like a tooltip, you need to hover over them for about three seconds before they show up.

i have the buddy clicked and mouse over it for a while. This is with the Beta too. Is there anyway to have a CLEAN install of adium? maybe there's a corrupted file somewhere....

for me I just wait without having the mouse hovering over the persons name and it will eventually show up after around 5 minutes. I'm not sure why this isnt working for you and I think this is one of the features that makes adium so much better than iChat.

now that i think of it, i couldn't do this since 0.8. i guess something got screwed up. well could some tell me how to do a CLEAN install? maybe that'll fix it.

If you want to get a CLEAN install just use finders search thing and type in adium. Delete everything that shows up that is Adium related.

yeah it was a screwed up file...it works perfectly now.....away messages come up almost instantly
