Ever since discovering Adium, I have made it my primary mode of IMing. Unfortunately, since moving to 0.85, I have become extremely frustrated at a very big problem.

Most of my contacts reside on MSN. So, I depend largely on MSN for contacts. However, as of late, the "burning duck" has been appearing to me the moment I launch Adium (the crash dialogue reporter thing). I tried searching the forums/Wiki for a workaround, but to no avail. So, manually, I connected each IM protocol one by one. To my amazement/horror, MSN was causing Adium to crash.

I ran Cocktail on my system and it helped, but after a while, it crashes. Again. And again. And again. I think I've submitted close to a dozen crash reports using the crash reporter.

I have half-a-mind of dropping back to 0.84, but I can't seem to find a place to download it.

Help? Anyone?

I'm not exactly 100% sure on what your asking but Ill give you an answer based on my interpretation. Your trying to start up Adium and when you do it crashes? Have you changed the password for your MSN login and have not updated it to Adium yet? That happened to me with Yahoo and I had it auto connect at launch so it would constatly crash. Just hold shift while clicking on Adium.

I've got the same thing, starting from 10 minutes ago, when Adium spontaneously crashed.

When I start Adium, it gets as far as connecting to my accounts (3, all MSN) and then crashes.

I can start Adium with shift pressed, but if I try to connect any of the accounts, Adium crashes.

I haven't changed any MSN settings in months. Adium was working fine until about 10 minutes ago, then it crashed and it won't restart.

Skype and iChat are working perfectly... maybe it's time to look at a Jabber-MSN gateway through iChat, I was getting a bit cheesed off with the way that Adium only auto-reconnects 1 out of 3 accounts when I wake my Mac from sleep, anyway....

Email / screen name on your crash reports?

There's been a ticket for months on the autoreconnect issue, and nobody has contributed debug data. We can't fix what we don't hear about.

I've just booted my Mac after being out all morning, and Adium connected to all 3 MSN accounts with no problem, so I assume something got screwed up on my Mac.

I'd be happy to send in some debug data for the auto-reconnect problem, if you can tell me how to capture it. It happens almost every time I sleep/wake my Mac, so I should be able to supply something pretty quickly.
