Block Services?

Is there a way I can disable certain services in Adium? I have a Jabber server setup where I work and would like to be able to use Adium as the client for all the Mac users. However, I don't like the idea of putting an MSN/AIM etc client on all the users' machines because I don't want to take the blame for the drop in productivity that would come with it.

I'd basically like to put a Jabber-only Adium on these machines - is this possible? Can it be achieved by removing the right components from within the Adium.app bundle?

Please help - I want to ditch Psi!

I'm pretty sure Adium can't do what you're expecting it. I would be really surprised if it did.

However, wouldn't it be possible to block MSN/AIM/whatever traffic using a firewall?

Yeah, AIM/MSN use different ports than Jabber. Blocking them would be a good idea :)

I thought about that, but according to this article it's not that simple:

You may try to build from source without all the services you don't want.

Which is an easy change -- comment out the services you don't want in CBGaimServicePlugin.m

Sounds good to me, I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
