Weird handling of e-mail addresses by Yahoo!

Does any other person have complaints about friends using the Windows version of Yahoo! messenger when sending e-mail addresses? When I send my e-mail address to a Yahoo! contact, my friend gets this:
http://www.me@mydomain.com@yahoo.com
which is of course totally frustrating for the other person as well as me. I think I send a correct e-mail address, but people that want to use it, get garbage.
I am very curious where the source of the problem is.
