Adium to chat?

hey there - as a new Mac user (one week and counting!) I am still finding my way around the workings of the thing in general - its suprising how different, yet more 'fluid' it is to use...

However, having come from a PC background, or more specifically MSN, I am used to using the thing to chat to various people.

Obviously Adium is all well and good, and has transferred everyone on my list already to it, but i was wondering if there is a form of Search for Adium, or other method? i.e. MSN you can search for people in your area, similar interests, age groups, etc...

Ta :D

This isn't currently supported in Adium. That said, I also don't know if there are plans to add it at any point. Your best bet would be to look on Trac and if it's not listed, add a ticket for it.

And, before you ask. Adium does not have support for Audio/Video yet. And file-transfer is a bit slow. And most of the these features is on it's way. Although not by Adium, this is core work which is done by GAIM.

So, for more information, check the track http://trac.adiumx.com and http://gaim.sourceforge.net.

I hope you like Adium, and your new Mac :) What kind?

(And I can sneak in with that, aMSN for mac has Video support but no audio. Just go to the direrctory of this forum and you will find a sub-forum with a link to the latest version in a thread)

To be honest, i am trying to distance myself more from the PC - i found it was getting far too frustrating to use - however, MSN was something i used on a fairly regular basis...

I think Summer Of Code had a person working on FT in MSN. Maybe not; I know there was an AIM/ICQ one at least.
