I gave Adium X a first try a little bit ago, and quite liked it, but found that it seemed that it was missing one feature I use extensively: Gaim's buddy pounce. (For those who don't know, this feature lets you create a "pounce" that is performed on certain events; for instance, I have it set to automatically open a new message tab whenever a certain person signs on.) Am I mistaken, and is this supported in Adium? If not, is there a chance it might be added in a future version? As frivolous as it sounds, this is keeping me with Gaim for Mac rather than switching over to the otherwise better Adium.

We already have it

Highlight a contact, Get Info on them, and set an alert. The alert can do all kinds of things.

We call them contact alerts, not buddy pounces. Same idea, though.

Contact -> Show Info for Contact -> Alerts
