Gaim Error

for some reason when i turned on my adium today, it wouldn't sign on msn anymore. i get "Gaim Error Error writing to Notification server". Does anyone know what this might be, or how to fix it?
i'm on Adium X 0.74 running Mac OS 10.3.7

Well, this has nothing to do with Adium. It's Microsoft. Or do you guys get signed in on another msn messenger program??

Ditto here with MSN. I can log into Messenger, though. I seem to remember a while back (like 2 years) that Messenger was set up so you had to use their client, as was Yahoo Messenger, and no other client would work. Maybe they updated their proprietary code?

Yeah, I think I'm having the same problem, only it's making Adium crash every time I try to log on to msn.
I broke out an old copy of msn messenger, and it says that I'm logged in, but no one else is.

Same here, although it took about five minutes of trying to connect before I got the error. Must be a Microsoft server problem.

yeah its very much a Microsoft issue... as stated on the MSN Messenger server status page. see the link above.
The above link will also tell you when the issue is fixed so keep an eye on it.

Yeah MSN went off line last night and i was having trouble logging on this am on either msn messenger or adium. msn started connecting,but adium kept getting gaim errors from the server "writing errors" adium eventully connected to msn.Im not sure if any of my friends are on or not it only shows that im on.Kinda wonder if msn changed there protocall when they went off line? Oh by the way using .75b that i downloaded Friday.

ahoy to all...
I too had a problem with my MSN yesterday but it's up and running now.
um.. does anyone have a problem with signing in to Yahoo! messenger? ever since i first downloaded Adium i haven't been able to sign in to either of my 2 yahoo accounts. It keeps saying that my username is invalid. it's all very vexing!
