The wallpaper is one I found at Deviant Art(link). I adjusted the proportions to get the effect I wanted. The best part of it is that the "?" blocks and the pipes are actually Dragthing icons that open various apps and folders when clicked on. Clicking on Mario opens my NES emulator.
Unfortunately I have no idea where I got the mushroom and koopa shell icons. I found this set of Mario/Nintendo icons somewhere a long time ago. When I decided to use this theme I tried to figure out where I got them but have had no luck so far. The flower is from this set of jelly icons. The musical note block is something I made myself, as it seemed appropriate for iTunes. For the trash icon I made the pipe from scratch and added the piranah plant from that Mario set I had. When the trash is empty the plant goes away. And the Adium icon is one I made as well, the link is in my sig.
I'm still looking for more Mario icons or things that could be related, so if anyone knows of any (or even good Aqua-like source images that I could turn into icons) I'd love to hear of them.
