GroupWise Error

Post by DLH »

I was trying to setup a GroupWise account and when connecting I get the following error:

(GroupWise): Gaim Error
Error. SSL support not installed.

How do I go about installing SSL support?

Hm. We've had this problem before, too. The code looks right... nobody on the dev team has access to a GroupWise server. Are you aware of a public one anywhere?

No, I don't know of a public one. I can, however, setup an account for you on our system tomorrow if you'd like.

Evan,

Well, it's working in 0.74 & 0.75. After all my checking with multiple clients on multiple machines (and oses), the problem was very simple. I had mistyped the server name (I left off the 'm' in .com'). javascript:emoticon('') The error message about SSL was throwing me off. It just couldn't find the server.

On a separate issue, I noticed that colored text and font size changes don't appear in the Adium window when sent from the GW client. Gaim (on windows) acts the same way, so I assume it's in the Gaim library for this service, correct?

Anyway, thanks again for the help. I'm glad that in your testing you were able to find a different bug. I'll leave the IM accounts active in case you want them for testing.

Wonderful :)

Looking at the code, I can see what's happening... if the ssl_connect method returns nothing it claims no SSL support exists. I'll file a bug with the Gaim folks for you... that's clearly misleading.

That sounds right since Gaim for windows acts the same way. I'll check into it though.

My pleasure, and thanks, that'll make future debugging for GroupWise a LOT easier.
