I think you should have the option of having the tabs on the side and the bottom. i really do perfer the side. And I have a block everyone not on my buddy list on aim. Adium does not reconize this.

I half implemented top tabs once, actually. I don't recall what the issue was that stopped me. I'll put it on my "look into it when I finally get some time" list.
