I lost my test and now need my logs to prove I got the grade

I really apologize for the caps and all, but I cannot stress enough how important this is. Here is the problem:
I get my grades back today, and one of them is a full grade lower then expected. (B as opposed to an A). So I email my teacher, inquiring about my grade and showing mathematically how it should be higher. She says that I got a 71 on my midterm (25% of my grade), when I really got a 91. She must've recorded it wrong in her gradebook, and now I am on break so I do not have my test to prove it, and there is a good chance I threw it away. So now it is my word vs hers, and if I got an A in this class (like I deserved), I get on the deans list and am qualified for 10,000+ in scholarship money this year.
Now thankfully to spotlight (I love my mac now even more than I thought possible), I searched for "91 religion." (religion & science class). Sure enough, I get an adium conversation between me and my girlfriend from the day we got the tests back, and she asks me how I did, and I say how I studied so much etc etc and got a 91 and how happy I was. My teacher said she will give me the credit if I show this conversation to her when I get back to school, which will qualify me for 10,000 which would be rather welcome.
The problem is, that the conversation has some sexual inuendos and comments between me and my girlfriend following mention of the test. I know that its not worth losing 10k over, but is there any way I can edit this adium conversation or make it shorter? It comes up in safari, but I cannot edit it or anything. I am really stuck between a rock and a hard place. Could anyone please help me? thanks? If i can't edit the conversation to just take out the sexual stuff then I will still probably show her, because its not worth losing 10k over, but I'd rather it not be there.
Please help!
Thanks

Could you Copy/paste the part of the conversation that you need into a Word or txt file?

I would do this. Because if you blur the sexy stuff then they'll get suspicious and say you were hiding something. Sorry about your predicament. At my school if you argue your grades you get a zero and suspension

1. Reveal log file in Finder.
2. Open in TextEdit.
3. Remove offending parts, making sure to match tags appropriately.
4. Load in Safari to verify it still works.
5. There's no step 5.

I question not the results or intention, I simply provide the method

This is why AIM conversations, etc aren't allowed as evidence in court.
Just scroll to where you said you got a 91 and she said thats great (which i'm sure she did), then take a screen shot, and then dupilcate the log (Ctrl+Click > Duplicate) and edit it, and then send her both the screenshot, and the log file. Make sure the time stamps match up as well.
Try to find the test. You should never throw stuff like that away while you're in college.

That's rough. At my school, if you think you deserved a different score, you can talk it over with the professor/TA and they'll decide whether you have a good point or not. Whatever their decision is at that point is final. In this case, however, it's simply an instance of a mis-recorded score. Derajfast
earned a 91 and
received a 91, but wasn't given credit for it in the end. This sort of contention should be allowed at any school.

Go to unsanity.com, get the Chat Transcript Manager, put it in your Applications folder and start it up. It will gather ALL your Adium conversations in one place, you choose the conversation, print it and then cut off anything AFTER the mention of the 91 grade. That's all she should need, the rest of the conversation isn't her business. But it will be PRINTED out and UNEDITED other than the part you cut off.

Why does he need to get a shareware app to do any of this?

Current log viewer doesn't support printing.

Aim for the lowest common denominator

[i.e., user doesn't know how to open the file outside of Adium, thus the comment]

But we shouldn't be sending them to some shareware app.

Actually, both are perfectly valid options. You could equally say sending them to Safari is implicitly condoning closed source [paid] applications as Apple holds everything above WebKit proprietary and you have to pay to upgrade to the latest OS to have the latest of Safari (barring security updates.) Thus the alternative could instead be worded as 'use Firefox/Mozilla/Camino' as they are all fully open source and fully free. While I'm not saying pointing to shareware as the first resort is best, it is a fully valid option as are any of the above, and let's just put them on a level playing field [disregarding cost and leaving preference to the chooser]

But the logs are html, so they can be opened with any number of programs that do support printing. All that needs to be done is edit out the other stuff.
