Application window focus

Post by ben_ »

I have noticed that from time to time if I have an Adium message window active and I click on a window in another application behind it (in this case, my page in Camino), nothing happens (ie. Adium remains active). It takes multiple clicks to bring Camino to the front. Sometimes I have to click on the icon in the dock.

Using expose has no affect- i select a window and it temporarily brings it to the front but then Adium jumps in front again. I am not getting a message, the program is just idle.

If I quit and restart the problem comes back- it seems to get progressively worse as I use Adium for longer.

The only thing that resolves the problem is to log out and back in again.

Is this a known bug or maybe some sort of corruption? I have only just started using Adium so I can't imagine my profile getting corrupt already!

Thanks,
Ben

This isn't something that could be Adium's fault... if the problem were reversed (Adium isn't coming to the front when clicked) it could be, but as you describe it it sounds like either a Camino bug or a system bug.
The duck still burns.

Yeah sorry, just came to that conclusion myself.

I have started noticing the problem when switching to Camino from other apps as well so the problem must lie with Camino. I was viewing quite a complex page with frames etc. that Camino didn't seem to like, it bogged down until I closed all windows.

Thanks anyway for your help,

Ben
