Hey I just installed Adium and its awesome. Right now Im just trying to get it to look nice and everything and just wondered something.

1. When the growl notification pops up for a msn contact it has a msn butterfly in the notify window.. and I looked but couldnt find where it was to change it to a different picture does anyone know?

When you hover over a msn contact and they dont have a pic it shows a msn butterfly. Is there anyway to change that too?

2. And also underneath the name when it pops up on the growl notify window it says
' connected. '

Is there anyway to change what that says also?

3. Oh and how can you change the shortcuts for smilies?

Instead of having :- P as a shortcut for the msn tongue smilie how can I change it to just : P

4. And is there anyway to group offline contacts?

5. And theres no difference between Away, Busy, Be Right Back, On the Phone, Out to Lunch in the contact list for msn?

I can bother to answer on the first one and the last one.

1. it most likely is a butterfly if adium hasn't loaded the icon, OR the user might be at a friends house or using the webmessenger which makes into one of MSN's default icons.

And if you are refering too that they don't have an icon AT all, you could do info and change it yourself(I guess) by double-clicking on the icon thing and drag your picture over there.

5. The MSN "part" isn't complete. Which means it doesn't have all the features that the official client offers. You can use the states that MSN offers, so other users can see it. But you currently can't view theres. I believe.

I actually wanted to know how to change the butterfly icon from the Adium Package Contents but couldnt find it so thats what I wondered where it was because Ive changed the image on the growl notify before.

6. And for MSN using Adium is it possible to see a contacts personal nickname which appear in italic in MSN for Windows?

1. You can find new service icon packs on http://www.adiumxtras.com or make your own by changing ones there. Your service icon pack is selected in the Appearance preferences.

2. It says connected for the connected event. Other events say other things as per the event.

3. Emoticon packs can be downloaded from http://www.adiumxtras.com or you can make your own.

4. This is coming in Adium 1.0.

5. The difference is visible in the tooltips and may be visible in the contact list depending on your settings. The default status icon pack shows the same icon for all away contacts; other packs from adiumxtras.com distinguish between the states.

Thanks for your reply but can you tell me where in the Adium Package Contents I can find the msn butterfly so I can change it?

The one that shows up in the growl notify and also the one that shows up when you hover on a name that doesnt have a display pic on msn.

And I did a search about MSN nudges and other features and people talked about GAIM is that something still being worked on to allow MSN 7 features on Adium?

And also webcam for MSN?

yeah.. but don't think you will have it soon. you would probably see nudge before.. If you want webcam for msn. Check aMSN, they got it.(it's apart of this forum)

Yeah I have it but I downloaded Adium cause you can make it look really cool but then I used it and I saw that its more focused on all IM's rather than just MSN which is what I need.

But Adium looks cool

So anyone know what folder those butterfly images are in?

But not what I was looking for I dont think.

Isnt there a single file of the butterfly icon. The one that pops up in the growl window so I can change it to something else?

Same with the butterfly icon when you hover over a name in your contact list that doesnt have a pic.

Anyway I'll keep looking.

Many (or all) of your questions will be answered there.
But finding the images might be easyer to just browse around inside the Adium app and search for it manually...
