[Bug?] Rate limit errors
[Bug?] Rate limit errors
With 0.75.1 I seem to be getting a lot of rate limit errors. I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that I have around 173 people on my lists, and a majority of them are away. I think Adium may be polling the server too fast for their away messages and because of this, I get the rate error message. Has anyone else experiences this?
Every time I connect without fail it will give me the error, and from then on, it will no longer poll for away messages, even if the person just went away. The only way I can get an away message for people who just say "Yes." is by getting their info.evands wrote:*sad* We upped the rate for away message polling when connecting. It didn't rate limit locally... wonder what the difference is. Does it happen every time? Only in certain situations?

Here, can make it easy. Download http://jew.servebeer.com/~evands/Libgaim.zip.
Extract. Take the Libgaim file and put it in:
Adium.app/Contents/Plugins/Gaim.AdiumPlugin/Contents/Frameworks/Libgaim.framework/Versions/A
And you should be good to go.
To answer your question, you'd need to check out and compile the Libgaim framework... it's already in the libgaim source, just forgot to copy the framework binary into the 0.7x branch before releasing.

I'm not quite sure how to perform the fix that KraziKid and evands have been talking about. Can someone give me a little help? The rate limit problem is driving me crazy! Here, can make it easy. Download http://jew.servebeer.com/~evands/Libgaim.zip.

To get into the Adium.app bundle, right click (or control click) and select Show Package Contents. You'll have to repeat the process to get into the Gaim.AdiumPlugin bundle. Hope that helps.dfinstein wrote:I'm not quite sure how to perform the fix that KraziKid and evands have been talking about. Can someone give me a little help? That helps perfectly. Now I can't download the libgaim.zip file from the server listed above. I did download it yesterday but when I realized I didn't know what to do with it, I deleted it. Is it still on the server? To get into the Adium.app bundle, right click (or control click) and select Show Package Contents. You'll have to repeat the process to get into the Gaim.AdiumPlugin bundle. Hehe, yes, but it was in my backpack until about 2 minutes ago when I opened my laptop. Here's a link to a server that doesn't go to sleep when I change locationsdfinstein wrote:That helps perfectly.
