Stop "Display name in the dock icon" from blinking

Is there any way to use the "Display name in the dock icon" action, but DON'T make it blink?
Also, how do I keep a conversation window minimized (meaning not even showing up) until I click on the dock icon to show it?

Bump? Anyone? C'mon, it must be annoying for the dock to blink all the time! I'd like it to just change icon, or color, or change in some visual way without bringing it to my attention

There is no need to bump threads. If someone is going to answer, they will without you bumping it.

What if the person who knows the answer does not see the question and it gets moved to the next page, but then I bump it and the person sees it at the right time because the thread is at the top of the forum, though?
