A question about Dock icons

I was wondering if there was any limit to the size of a dock icon, more specifically, of an adium dock icon.... I was just thinking, not planing to make, but just thinking, that it would be interesting (as-well as obnoxious out the wazoo) to have a dock icon which looked like a little rocket ship, and then, when one received a message it could LAUNCH! Straight up, to the TOP, or there abouts, of the screen!?

P.S. this by NO means, is a request! I was just wondering if something like that would be possible, in OSX?

An icon in the Dock is limited to it's 128 x 128 pixel space. No dice on the top of the screen, sorry
