MacOS X 10.3 + Adium 0.88: irregularly connection loss

hi, working with adium 0.88 and OS X Panther I'm experiencing sometimes several connection failures, but then one after the next for quite some time... and I always have to re-enter my password to connect. Then it works fine for like 5 or 10 minutes.
Some days there isn't any problem at all.

What is that? I even tried to switch back to an older version, but no help.

greetings

Which IM services are you experiencing this with? Are you connecting through any proxys?

No proxys active.
Sorry, what do you mean exactly by "IM services"?
The account is an old ICQ-account. Connection through server: login.oscar.aol.com (as seen in the prefs, I never particuarly configured that).

Yes, sorry, by IM services I mean AIM, ICQ, MSN, etc. Are you able to connect with the official ICQ client software, or is this connection problem existing only in Adium?

Well, I'd say only with Adium.
I'm using Adium now for about 3 month, and before that I almost never had anything like that with ICQ.

Of course now using Adium I never ever wanna go back...
So there has to be a soultion for that!!! ;-)

Is it just ICQ, or any other service as well?

Delete all the files realted to adium and reinstall it. Same problem here but it was solved like this. For deleting all files related to Adium you can use uninstall programms. Like appzapper etc..

Deleting all the files most likely isn't completely necessary. Try deleting and re-adding the account before you do that. If that doesn't work, then move, don't delete, the Adium 2.0 folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0

Then relaunch Adium and set up your account.

But once again, like The_Tick said, first try to see if any accounts from other services have problems connecting.

It's just the ICQ-service.

Well, later I'll try the other two advices and see what happens.

Thx to all ya so far!
