What can I use in order that my mesages cannot be decoded by local router or 3rd party users?
Some OTR or proxy?

Some intructions would be nice.

Click lock icon in message window toolbar. A message will be sent to the other user asking them to download and install OTR for encrypted chatting. If they install, the OTR conversation will continue and be encrypted (i.e., secure.)

I'm not exactly sure which clients/protocols are supported, but it's the 'official' way of doing it [at least AFAIK]

All protocols are supported. The only client which ships with OTR support 100% built-in is Adium. See http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ for information on the Gaim plugin (Windows, Linux, OS X) and the AIM OTR Proxy (Windows, any AIM client; OS X, any AIM client including iChat).
