REQ: Hide Adium in background, only with no current IM/Chat

Post by kevin67 »

SSIA,

It would be great to unhide the Adium buddy list window when you have a IM session open

Welcome to the forums! Could you please explain more clearly what it is that you are requesting? I really don't understand...

Am I correct in my understanding that you're requesting that there be another option for the buddy list in addition to 'hide when Adium is in the background'. You want Adium's buddy list to be hidden when Adium is in the background unless there's an open chat window, right?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure I see the point of such a feature. Why not just open and close the buddy list with the X-widget in the corner? I love the hide in the background option, but if you're already opening and closing the chat window manually, I don't think that manually opening and closing the buddy list is too much of a difficulty.

But correct me if I'm wrong.

When you just have a chat window, and the buddy list is open, press command-/ twice. Poof! No more buddy list.

(Press command-/ again to get it back)

carlj7 was right, and the reason I would like this feature is because I don't really want to see the buddy list on my desktop at all, unless someone IMs me, then I would like to see their status and see who else is on. I guess that might sound a little selfish, but that's what I would like =)

ok how about this then.... instead of "hide" how about make the ENTIRE Contact list (not just the background of the contact list) semi-transparent while in the background?

Or why not just hit close?
