Postby sharky517 » Fri Feb 17, 2006 9:21 am

my mind drifted and I hovered my mouse over the check box for the contact list shadow in the advanced prefs, and a tooltip told me to "Stay close to the Vorlon." whats a Vorlon and whats it gonna do to me that i wanna stay close to it?

it's the curse (or blessing?) of open source, people can screw around with the code, and put weird things like that were no one can see them!!!

No, they can't -- multiple people review every line of code that makes it into a shipping version of Adium.

It's very important that if you enable shadows you stay close to the Vorlon; it's quite simple, really, and that's why there's a tooltip to ensure users are aware of the dangers.

yes, but the reviewers may be just as weird (no offence...:D) as the person writing the code, and they can afford to play around, considering the fact they can't lose any money.

Perhaps, but humanity can't afford to play around with shadows.

Anyways, easter eggs are a time-honored tradition.

Isn't the point of an easter egg that the user finds it, not be told about it?

If you click on the Adium duck in the About Adium window it will quack. I think this one is pretty well known though.

Ha, I didn't know about that.

And that if you click it many times, it makes a choking(?) sound.
