When I'm logged into Bonjour via Adium, will any users logged in on the same network automatically appear in the Bonjour group, or must I manually add them?

Also, when logging into Bonjour, should I use my long or short OS X username, or does either one work?

The list is automatically populated by anyone on Bonjour on your LAN. AFAIK, you can use any name you'd like for Bonjour, it's an account like any other.
