Perhaps it's 10.4.5 ?
Perhaps it's since I changed from my 15" PB to a 17" PB ?
Anyway, my chat sessions don't stay together anymore, grouped in tabs.
How comes ?
I tried trashing the prefs and setting them again, to no avail.
... and of course : how can I cure it ?

Try looking in Preferences -> General
There should be a checkbox in there to group messages in tabs. Is it checked?

Well, yes it is, that's just the problem !
They group randomly, dunno why .. Two can stay together, then a thir person starts a chat, and this last one goes alone ...

Isn't there a preference to group tabs by status and whatnot? Check for something like that before we deem this a possible bug

Maybe. I found something saying "organize tabs by groups". I'll test this and see what it gives ...
Deduction : maybe is adium's preferences "too" rich ? ;-)

It's off by default, you checked it, and it's doing exactly what it says.
