Is there a way to prevent Adium from showing the entire picture when i'm dragging one from iPhoto into a message window? Maybe instead from showing up like this i could become a link or just the text you'll see when you just send it through the 'send file' button?

Wait till 1.0. This is already solved in svn.

Um, afaik it's not. As in, it's what I'm currently working on.

Two different issues are being discussed in this thread.

1) Drag & drop of an image to the text entry area. This is fixed in 1.0svn; the image appears as a preview-sized icon, regardless of its original size, rather than full size within the text view.

2) Sizing of the image with in the mesage view once it is actually sent/received and therefore displayed. This is not currently fixed and is what Catfish_Man is working on.

No, not really. That user wants Adium to resize the actual image which is sent out. Both (1) and (2) are referring to the display of an image independent of its actual resolution; (2) would show the image at an appropriate size but produce a full-size image when the image was dragged out to the desktop or otherwise saved.
