Hi I was trying to tweak the panther message view, but I can't solve the problem of the words being cut off. As shown here by Jack Lin
http://home.pchome.com.tw/home/annjack/halfmessage.jpg
anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem? I don't know much about message views but will like to fix it myself if possible. Is there anything I can change in the main.css file to fix it?
And since I am asking questions, I have another question. It seems that I can't tamper with the Content.html file. Once I change something the display goes very very wrong, and even when I remove the changes it won't go back. I have to copy and paste the Content.html file from the original Panther message view to make it go back to what it was. Any idea why is this so ? Why can't I change the html file?
Thank you very much for your help.

possibly add some padding to the bottom of #chat ?
As for changing Content.html.. I've noticed that Adium sometimes gets ornery if you try to make changes to an installed style, without quitting, deleting the style, and reinstalling it fresh. Also, you could run into trouble if your not careful to keep the character encoding and line-ending types the same as the original. That being said, what exactly are you trying to change?

The problem with content being cut off appears to be one of margins. One trick I've used before has been to put the entire content of a post in a div container, so that there are fewer dodgy margins to worry about. Fairly sure that's what I did on Shadowrunner.

I see! no wonder I couldn't figure out why the Content.html was behaving so strangely.telic.detour wrote:possibly add some padding to the bottom of #chat ?

I will try adding some padding and also try to enclose the message in a div.
I am trying to mod the panther message view to ichat bubbles, and I could do it but the line gets cut off and i couldn't change the html to add in the 'bubble corners'.
however it seems that someone has done it already and provided it in one of the threads recently. But the bug of cutting of abit of the bubbles still exist, so I will try to fix it.
Thank you for all your help ! I will get back on whether I managed to fix the problems
