Why do I have to do cmd+return to send a message

I had a problem with my adium connecting to AIM so I upgaded to .89.1 and now I have to hold the apple key and then press return to send a message. How can I fix this? Thanks

Preferences>General>*look at the middle of the window and you should see two check boxes for either "Send on Enter" or "Send on Return"
