If I update my version of Adium, do I lose my archive?

Hey, I did a search and couldn't find anything useful here or in the FAQ, so I figured I might as well just ask. If I upgrade my version of Adium will I lose my archived conversations? I really don't want to lose those. Thanks.

No, you won't.

To elaborate somewhat, all your conversation logs, downloaded extras, plugins, and so forth are stored in a folder (~/Library/Application Support/Adium2.0), which won't be affected when you copy over the Adium.app in your applications folder. All your stuff will still be there.

Sorry if that's unneeded and redundant, but I figured an explanation might be helpful.

So a good advice would be, to do a back-up on those. If they are really vitale.

I suppose you could, but I don't see why. I mean... they'll still be there.

I think Ethion means that if your logs are essential you should do a backup whether you're upgrading or not.

Yes, I would suggest backing up your valuable files before installing new software.
