Ok let me begin by saying this is hard for me to explain and English isn't my first language so please bare with me.
In AIM, I have 2 groups. Guys and Gals...simple. Adium connects to my account fine...however I lose some contacts in groups which I know are online.
For example, in my Guys group Adium tells me there are (12) people in this group online, however iChat tells me there are (17). The strange thing I noticed is that my buddies who do not show up are @mac.com users, and when I add them selecting .mac as protocol they still do not show up.
I hope it can be understood, and excuse my poor English.
Thank you.
Losing contacts
Just wanted to say your English was spot on and conveyed the problem perfectly.
As to the issue, that's odd, but I don't have an answer at hand to give you.

Is this just for AIM accounts?
How many accounts do you have signed on?
When did you first notice this, and has it ever worked?
Are you using .89.1 or a SVN HEAD build?
What version of iChat are you using?
What version of OS X are you using?
What contact list style are you using?
I agree with bgannin, your English in describing this issue is great. More detail will help though.

Noticed it this morning, but pretty sure it was worked in the past
Are you using .89.1 or a SVN HEAD build?
latest svn
What version of iChat are you using?
3.1.4
What version of OS X are you using?
10.4.6
What contact list style are you using?

[edit] I just realized that the contact will show up when I put it in a group that it was not originally in [eg. place buddy "Pat" into "Girls" and he shows up but doesn't show up in "Guys"]
This is becoming more strange by the minute.
[editx2]
After restarting Adium, the @mac contact was removed from all my groups again (still online however) and when they IM me and I try to add to group, it switches to (Not Listed).
[editx3]
Okay last edit, I want to provide you with the most information I can to help you solve this bug.
In Adium > joscar Debug Window I get this.
Code: Select all
9:42 AM] ClientSnacProcessor: Sending SNAC request SnacRequest for GetInfoCmd: flags=2 (FLAG_AWAYMSG), sn=SCREEN NAME @MAC.COM: listeners: And for any @mac contact on my contact list if I view offline contacts it says PleaseUpgrade 001 to PleaseUpgrade 017.
No need to bump, I believe at this point we are a bit stuck on debugging the issue until actual code is reviewed for that. It makes sense that the error would occur in svn not release since svn is using joscar and this bug is likely manifesting itself from there.
Your best bet at this point is to head over to Trac and file a ticket detailing all the information you've provided so we can keep this on the development radar (and not need to follow a forum thread.)

This is the same bug as the one recently reported by another user that mobile contacts became PLEASUPGRADEXXX. Relevant existing ticket is http://trac.adiumx.com/ticket/3979.
