Contact List Woes

I was trying to erase all the contacts from all of my buddy lists, since i got some weird things happening, and it seemed as though i was succesful in doing this (though i had to use the standard AIM client to delete the buddies) but now even when i add buddies in Adium, it shows up as though they're not on, no one is showing up as online!

what have i broken?
