I noticed that, if you set a "Free for Chat" status message with a script, like the currently playing track in iTunes, it doesn't update when the song changes. Also, the "/music" command doesn't parse correctly.

Is live updating of the status message planned for the 0.8 tag?
Initial parsing works fine for me. Seems live updating isn't working at the moment, but that's unintentional.

SVN builds later than r9729 will crash using custom status icon packs from before r9729

You'll need to remove custom packs or update them. There will be an official notice of what they support later... for now, take a look at the Gems.AdiumStatusIcons info.plist:

Code: Select all

	<dict>
		<key>Generic Available</key>
		<string>available.png</string>
		<key>Generic Away</key>
		<string>away.png</string>
		<key>Idle</key>
		<string>idle.png</string>
		<key>Offline</key>
		<string>offline.png</string>
		<key>Unknown</key>
		<string>unknown.png</string>
		<key>content</key>
		<string>content.png</string>
		<key>typing</key>
		<string>typing.png</string>
		<key>enteredtext</key>
		<string>enteredtext.png</string>
	</dict>

You've managed to update and build in the last like 5 minutes? :P

9782 crashes on start up for me, even if I create a new profile-amjig by holding down option on launch. 9752 works (even with my custom status icons), unless you try to look at the messages preference.

C'est la vie.

OK, 9784 will start, but I had to change the status icon pack. Still no love from the message view preference. Also, here's a localization bug I noticed a few versions back, but forgot to talk about. There's a Japanese character at the end of Configure Sort Status for no reason. It's probably just an ellipsis that someone forgot to write in Unicode.

PS Word of warning, 9784 trashes saved aways-- again.

When will there be a folder in Adium 2.0 for Status Icon Packs?

Edit: OK, having some problems here. I updated to the latest revision (9784), but backed up my prefs first. When I tried running the new build, none of my accounts connected, and I got a white box with nothing when I tried to open the accounts window. So, I trashed the prefs and went back to the backup copy, and tried to open my last stable build (which was copied to my apps folder, I'm not sure what revision it is). When I tried opening that, my accounts didn't connect again, but this time I was able to open the accounts window. When I tried manually connecting my accounts, Adium crashed. The Adium Crash Reporter did not open. I'm gonna have to go back to .77 until I get another stable build :?

Double Edit: I cleaned the active target and rebuilt. It works now, but I seem to have lost the ability to run my previous build for some reason, even with a backed up pref folder. It's a good thing I don't plan on changing my message style anytime soon.

I warned you about the status icons thing a few posts up.

Sorry about the saved aways... I love you guys, but I'm not going to avoid adding new features without spending hours writing import code when it's a question of SVN builds. We got improved performance when dealing with status states, and status icon support for all status states for all contacts, out of it.

New available keys for .AdiumStatusIcon packs (** denotes required)

Code: Select all

** Generic Available
Free for Chat
Available for Friends Only

** Generic Away
Extended Away
Away for Friends Only
DND
Not Available
Occupied
BRB
Busy
Phone
Lunch
Not At Home
Not At Desk
Not In Office
Vacation
Stepped Out

** Idle

Invisible

** Offline

** Unknown

Nice! Make a new thread status icons thread if you'd like, and I'll lock the "until .8 comes out, post status icons here!" one.

Any chance we'll see the status icons update in the buddy list for typing/enteredtext/content in .8? I know it was talked about before but I can't remember what the plan was. I'd love to get rid of the background coloring...

I've run into a bit of a snag. I'm sure there's just a .plist I should remove to give this another go, but I'm not sure which one it is. I'm using build 9751. I got one too many annoying errors that I can't have any more people in a group on my buddy list.

Personally, I like the idea of having everybody in the company under one group... makes life easier for me. But I shrugged and gave up on that dream. I moved everybody into departmental groups and magically, as I moved the very last one, they all moved back. On a hunch I logged in with iChat and discovered they were all in the appropriate groups. So I'm thinking there's just a plist someplace I need to delete and let Adium recreate. That may even resolve the original issue and let me leave everyone where I want 'em. Any suggestions?

I am getting an error in the build for revision 9808, it says: "Cocoa/Cocoa.h: No such file or directory"

Anyone know how to fix it? TIA.
