They Changed the way the info.plists were written, somewhere Zaudragon posted a folder with all the icons and updated .plists, can't remember where it is though...SuperJeremy3000 wrote:ahhh, im back on SVN (reinserts the IV)!!
one question, is there anything special you have to do to get the status icon packs to work? i have a buncha status icons that used to work with past versions of SVN but now they dont!
btw great work guys!
Well shucks. I blew away List Layout.plist and did a clean build, and the problem remains. Shazbot.Kevlar wrote:Also with my current build, r9957, I don't have the contact list not remembering settings after quit problem.
What's odd is that the prefs are correct after quitting Adium. It seems they get over-written to defaults during launch/initial connect. I'll go do some more poking and prodding.
Hmmm....just reflecting on how nice it is that pref files in OSX are plain-text and usually human-readable. Certainly wasn't the case a few years ago.

Just edit the plist file yourself, it's pretty self explanatory.SuperJeremy3000 wrote:for somereason grabbing the .plist didnt work last time.. well it did this time.. sept not for all, somatic dots isnt working, they are .tiffs, anyone have an idea?Tipo 61 wrote:They Changed the way the info.plists were written, somewhere Zaudragon posted a folder with all the icons and updated .plists, can't remember where it is though...SuperJeremy3000 wrote:ahhh, im back on SVN (reinserts the IV)!!

here's the thread with new-format status icons
tipo: not that i know of. the consolidation of the "appearance" pane was a good idea in some respects, but lacks a lot of the functionality of the separate panes (e.g. dock options, adding and removing contact list styles)
another issue: running current rev (9978), idle times in the contact list are not updating. that is, if i sign on and someone is idle, it will display the correct idle time for them then, but will stay at that same time forever. also, for people who go idle after the default of 10 minutes, it shows their idle time as (10) until they un-idle. the tooltips are still reporting the proper idle times, though.

Hmm - my MSN contacts are no longer showing their Display name as their status for some reason (just pulled an update from SVN and built it - version 9984).
I think this has been lkke this for the last few SVN builds I've done, so I'm sure someone's on it. I just like hearing my own voice.

something totally different but still on-topic:
is there any idea when .8 will be out? I have an SNV version that works quite well, but I'd love the official version!
I know you guys will say it's finished when all the features are built, but it would be cool to get an idea. I always read "soon" and "very soon" but to me that means in an hour or two...

i think i might be able to answer this question in one of the more nicer ways.twopeak wrote:something totally different but still on-topic:

the developers hate to follow deadlines, this is reasonable. The people who develop this program, do it in their free time, so they get to programing when they have that free time. there is no set date, or really any kind of approximation. i know you dont know this, but people get really angry when others ask about a deadline.
i think the best quote from a developer on this subject is... "when its done"
no offense meant
Of course it is very important to give the developers their space, respect, and our gratitude. I think it's not wrong, however to say that .8 is surely getting there! And that we aren't THAT far from a beta.
Speaking of which, I was reading the SVN notes and saw this for release 9988 (recent) "This isn't perfect, but it's good enough for beta1. Dock overlay is now a contact event Action."
what is meant by beta1? Is there something I'm missing? or are we getting closer than I thought to a beta?
Again, HUGE gratitude to the developers, Adium is awesome!

I've got a problem with the buildDaily.sh script, it doesn't seem to find svn.
After that it compiles Adium as planned, but it hasn't updated the copy, because it couldn't find svn. Anyone got any ideas ?
(And yes svn is working on my machine, manually updating is no problem)

ravijo: in another commit today, one of the version/copyright lines was changed from 0.8svn to 0.8b1, so a beta is definitely not far in the future.
