Newbie needs some help!!

Hey im having a bit of trouble getting Adium to work, I downloaded the latest version and all that but when i created a/c's (for both google talk and MSN) i couldn't log in.

When i try to login i get this error:

username@hotmail.com (MSN) : Gaim error

Connection error from Notification server (messenger.hotmail.com):
Writing error

I've checked all the posts and tried all the suggestions (eg create a different a/c, change the preferences folder) but nothing seems to work??

Im using Adium on my Mac so im thinking it might be a problem with the firewall or something i dont know, anyone got any ideas??

Are you having this problem with Google Talk too, or just with MSN?

Are you able to connect to MSN through the official client?

If you aren't able to connect with the official client, I would assume that it's a MSN server issue, not your issue

Server problems are usually fixed in a short time.

Yea im pretty sure its a problem on my side, the MSN server is working fine according to MSN.

Its both MSN and Goolge that don't work. Im thnking it might be somthing to do with my firewall or something!!

Oh nice icon thingey by the way a BatDuck, keeping the pond free of scum!!

Yea thats a really sad joke, sorry about that.
