Yes, of course. Adium is based on Gaim, so if Adium supports a protocol so does Gaim. Follow these instructions.

1.) It's not GAIM. It's Gaim or gaim.
2.) GTalk is Jabber. Any Jabber-enabled client should be able to communicate with Google's servers.
3.) The official GTalk client is for Windows.

If you want to use the official release, you can download it from any of the servers on this page: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gaim/gaim-1.5.0.exe

If you want to use the beta, you only need to download the third beta, it's the package called 'gaim-2.0.0beta3.exe'

The difference between the two: The beta is a testing release, and could potentially be buggy. It has more features, but is not as stable. Both the stable release and the beta will let you connect to Jabber/GTalk

Noted, and fixed with an edit. Thanks.

The interoperability between the two networks is announced for sometime around the second quarter of 2006. So hopefully it will be released soon. I guess they won't tell us an exact date, they will just "flip the switch" like they did in january with the jabber s2s connection.

I wouldn't say surreal, but more of basic troubleshooting.
