How do I search all message logs?

How do I search all message logs? When I try, no results appear. It only seems to work for very short search terms, like one or two letters. But then after that, no results appear.

You're in 0.8x presumably?

In any case, delete your index and dirtylogs.plist files from ~/Library/Caches/Adium and let the log viewer reindex. 1.0 will have improved searching.

And make sure that the drop-down menu inside the search field is set to "Content," not "To," if you're searching for stuff within conversations you've had with people. Sometimes it defaults to "To."
