Users list defined on server

Hello,
I have set up a Wildfire server and for some reason the Users and groups are not automatically showing up in adium when I log into an account. It seems to have to do with a setting in adium, as I can get it to work sometimes. For example, I have one ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/* directory that will add the groups and users that I set up on the server side, but if I rename that directory and re-setup the account with a freesh Adium 2.0 directory it doesn't give me the same love - I just get a blank user list...
any ideas?
thanks,
alex
--Edit--
I forgot to mention that all of the users in the groups I define on the server are being created in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/ByObject.
It shows a plist for each group and user I have added on the server. So I guess the question becomes, where does the userlist get defined to pull those values into it?
Thanks!

one last edit...I decided to not use Adium because although it seems like the best client out there it was too frustrating to configure for the environment I was trying to roll it out in. would love to have the configuration a bit more straight forward for easier enterprise deployment.
