Appendning a disclaimer/signature to an initial message

Post by wjs »

Hey everyone,

I have been trying to figure out how to attach a disclaimer to an initial message. The reason for this is that in the trading business, compliance standards dictate that any message going outside of the office must include a disclaimer. Basically it states that "info in the following message does not constitute a reccomendation sufficient for an investment decision," etc etc. I am trying to figure out a way to automatically append this kind of text to the beginning of any initial message to someone in a specific group (ie, a group for contacts outside of the office). In other words, the disclaimer is displayed when one of our brokers/traders initiates a conversation with his client, but not when he is sending a message to someone in our office.

Any ideas on how to implement such a thing? Perhaps with Applescript?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You can create an Event (in preferences) for "message received (initial)" where Adium would send a message automaticaclly. Not sure how to do it for when you start a conversation.

The problem is that a user could disable it if they so chose to.

Is there no way to do this on the server end?
