New contacts show as offline .. AIM problem?

Any new contact that I add to my aim list shows up as offline. And when anyone tries to add me as a new aim contact, I show up as offline.

I created a new AIM account, and added the same new contacts and it worked fine.

I have about 50 contacts in my aim list.

Anyone experienced anything like this before?

fixed it.

opened the official aim client and discovered that my privact settings had somehow gotten set to only allow a specific list of contacts .. my list at the time. changed it back to 'allow all' and now all is well.

i may have logged on with an older version of adium from a different computer recently. maybe that caused it.

It's actually a bug in iChat too.

It might be an AIM problem, since Adium has it even I have "Allow All"
