Message Style Creation: Intermittent Time Stamp?

Post by CyberMonk »

I've been a long time Proteus user, but have decided to port my message theme in order to give Adium a try and see if I can get it just how I like it ;-) However, my message theme in Proteus relies on the use of an %intermittent placeholder in the message style that would, after the passage of some set length of time, display a followup timestamp for a message within the same combined message box of a given individual; the individual would have to take an uninterrupted pause and then send another message in the same window for this to be triggered.

Is there an equivalent in Adium, or am I stuck with the always-displaying %time%? Or is there some way I manipulate the %time{x}% function to mimic this behavior (although I'm assuming this can only be used for visual formatting)?

There are some iChat clone message views, you could probably look in them.

You could also use javascript to run a timer (or parse the output of %time%).
