Staying online after quiting

Hi, I'm a recent switcher from iChat to Adium and the one thing I miss is the ability to close the program and still remain online. I imagine there is a way to do so, but I have no clue. The ability to not take up the screen real estate (without having to close each window and have the program in Apple-Tab) and still have people contact me was wonderful. Is there anyway to do this?

There is no way to do this currently with Adium. That said, it has been requested and requires a significant amount of work to accomplish, thus it will be a while before someone adds functionality such as this. Sorry there couldn't be a better answer
