Is there always a delay when a buddy icon in MSN is changed?

When my friends on MSN change their buddy icon it takes a long time for the change to show up on my contact list. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thanks.

need more information, like what version of adium, and OS.

Right... it's Adium 0.89.1 on OSX 10.4.7

the beta has better buddy icon support, either get that or wait for the final version.
If you get the beta though, back up the Adium2.0 folder, this is located at library/application support
