Two AIM accounts and messaging.

So, I'm using 89.1 and I have two AIM accounts on. I have a few people on both accounts but I can't choose which name I want to IM from. Is there a way around this?

When you open a conversation with a contact, at the top of the window is there a option to change which account you send from?

Not to highjack a thread, but I'm having the same problem. Is there a way we can set it up for a default choice. There's one I usually prefer using and now it's picking the other one.

After you message one name, it should keep using that if that name is available. What status(es) are involved for the contacts within the metacontact? Please be specific

Ok, usually I'm trying to IM my friend from account 1 just like I do with everyone else. I'm available, she's away. Whenever I double click her name to chat it always picks account 2 instead of account 1. Even if I choose account 1. She shows up in both screen names' buddy lists too, so that's not it. Although, 1.0B11 shows her as not in list for both.

Is account 2 also away? Or is it is available, and only account 1 is away?

Both are the same status, usually if one is away, they're both away, and usually with the same message.

I have the same problem. I originally had 3 screen names on trillian, then when I got my mac I switched to adium (because I also have MSN and yahoo messenger) and now I will IM someone and they have no idea who I am because it uses the screen name they do not know. for example, I had my friend on SN3. now, with adium, it always uses SN2 and my friend at first had no idea who I was.

how can I switch from one sn to another?

It's easy, when you open a chat tab, you'll find a lil drop down menu at the top. You can select your SN of choice from there. Unfortunately, I don't know how to change the default.

Okay, you double click someone's name, before you send a message, under the icons at the top (buddy icons and such) there should be a little From: and there you can select which one you want. I'm using the beta, but IIRC, it's true on the standard version too.

There should be a drop down menu at the top of the conversation, before any messages are sent. I think you must be logged into at least 2 accounts (that can message this user) for you to see this.
