Migrating from Trillian (windows) to AdiumX (mac)

I'm having some problems with my contact list.

On Trillian I have used two AIM accounts for the past year or so, but Trillian seems to add each contact on AIM to each AIM account.

Now when I go on Adium, it syncs with the buddies that are online according to AOL's database right?

So I have so many duplicate buddies, and unlike in GAIM which I've tried on Windows, I can't find out how to delete people from a specific account. If I remove someone on my buddy list it seems to remove them from both accounts.

So I've gone down my list and gone to each person's info and then tried to set "not shown" for my other accounts and it worked until after I logged on in Trillian again and then tried Adium.

Is there any way for Adium not to automatically sync with AOL ?

I have a very organized list on Trillian and I'm not sure if I'm able to use both Programs. It seems every time I log in with one it changes the other. Any solutions to this problem?

Thanks,

Other than that, wonderful program Adium is :)

Make the Trillian develoeprs fix Trillian to not incorrectly modify the AIM serverside list? :)

Glad you're enjoying Adium other than this problem.. this seems like definitely a Trillian issue to me, based on your description.

Heh, yeah... I guess I can load up GAIM on my PC... then modify my list, and THEN add everything in Adium.

My PC is a bit speedier than my new PowerBook at that, I guess I'll just tell you how it goes.

I think there is a way to not merge your contact lists in trillian but they don't make an effort of doing that by default.

Is it possible to import GAIM data?

Just wondering.

I edited all my info on GAIM, and now Adium doesn't update the new info! :(

How do you purge all Adium data and re-install?

I'm new to Macs so I'm not sure where to find were the 'Application Data' is kept.

Go to your Home Folder, the one named after the computer user, then open the Library Folder, Then open the Application support folder inside there, and you should see an 'Adium 2.0' folder. Just move that to the trash and restart Adium. Then it will start you from scratch.
