I'm getting an internet or network problem with adium

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I have been using adium for a quite long time. Right now, I'm getting this internet or network problem with adium. If I am talking to someone like on AIM and the person isn't responding anymore even though I know he's there, I'm not logged into AIM anymore. I can prove this by adding my own AIM screename and messaging my self with typing "hey." When I message my self, I don't get a response back. I have adium x .76, but this has been happening in older versions too. Oh yeah, I have msn and yahoo logged in with adium too, but I'm not sure if those clients have that problem too.

Are you on a network with a lot of traffic? I have some friends who are on networks that aren't built to handle as much traffic as they get, so sometimes their messages can lag quite a bit at times of high activity. Do your friends ever tell you that they'll all of a sudden get like 3 or 4 messages from you at the exact same time? If so, then that's a tell-tale sign that your net is lagging.

I think I'm not on a lot of trafic and I get the 3 or 4 messages thing rarely..
